Wellness is generally used to mean a healthy balance of the mind-body and spirit that results in an overall feeling of well-being.  At Pilates of Marin, our philosophy both in the way we teach, to the products we sell in our retail space, extends the definition of health to include self-responsibility.  Self-responsibility for your health leads to an appreciation of who you are as a changing individual that will empower you to move forward regardless of your current state of health.

Sometimes our bodies need a little bit more than just Pilates but with the choices of different practitioners in Marin County, it can be a bit daunting where to go.  Our philosophy at Pilates of Marin is to use a preventative approach with an integration of the most effective tools and techniques to allow you to achieve optimal health.   These practitioners that Pilates of Marin recommends and endorses will work closely with you to set your wellness goals so that combined with your Pilates sessions, together we’re working towards building you a strong and healthy body.

Laura specializes in general biomechanics analysis to identify muscular imbalances that cause injury or weakness, Active Release Techniques® (ART®) soft-tissue therapy to “un-stick” tight, weak muscles, and functional training exercises designed to strengthen sub-optimal movement patterns.
